As a first generation Korean-American woman born and raised in Los Angeles, I have experienced first-hand how integral cultures and traditions are, both to individual identities and to our overall community here in Southern California. Being a child of immigrants and growing up in LA, I have crossed paths with so many people. Over time, it has become clear to me how many of us are just surviving and how far we are from thriving. My life experiences have directly influenced my ability to be resilient and have also enabled me to continue to overcome every challenge while learning how to navigate this industry. Growing up, I knew that I wanted to make a change, a statement, through clothing. My goal is for my cultural background and upbringing be represented in my work and continue to allow me to thrive as an artist. I’ve met so many inspiring female leaders who have become my mentors along the way and have taught me so much about the ins and outs of this industry. I have the knowledge and understanding of the quick turn- around process within manufacturing and production, and the aptitude to embrace teamwork and work closely with others.
